§ 16-28. Equipment; recommendations for purchase; housing.

(a)

The department shall be equipped with vehicles, apparatus and other equipment as may be authorized by the board and mayor and required to maintain its efficiency and to properly protect life and property from fire.

(b)

Recommendations of vehicles, apparatus and equipment needed shall be made by the fire chief and, after approval by the mayor, shall be purchased in a manner as may be designated by the board.

(c)

All department vehicles, apparatus, and equipment shall be safely and conveniently housed in places as may be designated by the mayor. The places shall be heated during the winter season.
